The
Lee Seminar had its roots in a series of seminars conducted by noted
trial expert John Alan Appleman, who served as Dean of the International
Academy of Trial Lawyers and as President of the Federation of Insurance
Counsel. He is the author of several books and numerous articles.
J.D. Lee and Joe Rodriguez attended these seminars and began conducting
them in 1969 after Appleman became disabled. The unique insights of
Appleman continue to drive the seminar today, with its focus on every
aspect of trial work. The lessons learned have launched many lawyer's
success and many successful attendees return again and again for new
tips and refresher courses. The
Lee Foundation is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization devoted to
doing charitable works in the fields of literacy action. Proceeds
from each year's seminar will help fund such programs in the Knoxville
area. It has long been the observation of J.D. Lee that only those
who are able to read can participate fully in American democracy.
2004 marks the 35th anniversary of
the Lee Seminar, a comprehensive program in which noted trial experts
share the techniques of effective courtroom presentation. As an
attendee, you will learn methods your host, J.D. Lee, has mastered
in over 50 years of trial practice. This is an intense, two day,
CLE accredited seminar in which you will learn the secrets that
have taken the faculty a lifetime to learn. Along with giving you
an edge over your opponents, this seminar also provides an opportunity
to meet old friends and encounter new colleagues from across the
country.
The Hon. Joseph Rodriguez is currently
