Venable
Travis received his Bachelor of Science in Political
Science from East Tennessee State
University in 2000, and a
Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Appalachian School of Law in 2003.
Upon graduation, Travis received the Virginia Trial Lawyers
Association 2003 Trial Advocate of the Year Award.
Travis is licensed to practice law in the state of
Tennessee, as well as the state of Texas.
Before officially joining together, Travis and Dan
had previously had success in representing clients in jury trials as a
team. This included a jury
verdict of $4,750,000.00, reduced to $3,800,000.00 after comparative
fault, for an injured construction worker, and a jury verdict of
$800,000.00 in a medical malpractice case involving the death of an
infant.
Travis’ career as an attorney has always been
focused in the field of civil litigation.
As such, Travis has extensive trial and case experience in all
aspects of civil litigation, and the majority of his practice has been
in the representation of plaintiffs.
Some highlighted examples include:
verdict in the amount of $1,750,000.00 for intentional
infliction of emotional distress to the plaintiff, verdict in the
amount of $1,155,000.00 for injuries to the plaintiff as a result of
railroad crossing negligence, settlement in the amount of
$2,000,000.00 for class action discrimination suit, and a multitude of
settlements ranging from $600,000.00 to $100,000.00.
In addition, Travis has previously represented large
corporations and insurance companies and can use that knowledge for
the benefit of the plaintiffs that he represents.
Travis is an active member of the Tennessee Association for Justice (formerly
the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Assoc.), American Association for Justice
(American Trial Lawyers Assoc.), Tennessee Bar Association, and the
Knoxville Bar Association.
